🔗 Share this article The second-hand marketplace Users Express Frustration About Sizing Modifications Shoppers are voicing their frustration due to a modification that led to products showing incorrect sizing. The second-hand shopping app has updated its size classifications for women's and children's clothes but did not contact every member regarding the update. Social Media Response Numerous buyers and vendors have taken to social media claiming that product pages now present a different size category versus the original listing as a result of the reclassification. The platform stated the new system was more in line with similar services. It has advised users to examine their items and adjust the sizing manually if necessary, which has left users frustrated. Sizing System Modifications Previously, the measurements included a single numeric size and a letter, such as S/8 or M/10. The revised method features a letter with a size spectrum such as S/UK 8-10. In some cases, the size labels have been reassigned - for example a size L used to be a 12 but is now a UK 16-18. Member Stories Frankie Bridger, who makes TikTok content about plus-size fashion, stated the update "complicates both purchasing and selling". "Rarely do manufacturers list XL as sizes 20-22," the way the service now categorizes. Another user, based in Glasgow, stated items she posted with size 14 tags were appearing on the platform as measurements 20-22. "Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they will likely be quite upset," she said. Required Changes Another shopper, from Derby, stated she felt frustrated by the change as she had to manually change the sizes on "every single listing". "Personally, this is quite irritating, because of my ongoing medical condition and selling on Vinted has been paramount after experiencing income reduction," she explained. Marketplace Information The app has more than 100 million users, comprising 18 million UK members. It has proved a popular alternative compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop. This is not the initial instance where an unanticipated change within the service has received backlash: previously, the service retracted a modification to its shipping options after backlash from users.
